About

imageBorn in Denmark, raised in Iceland, studied Food Science and hold a MBA from the University of Warwick, England.  Worked for many years as a Quality Manager in the Icelandic food industry and as a HR executive in the retail sector.  Then in 2011 the family relocated to England and I decided it was time to take the leap and follow my dream – exploring the world of textile.

Ever since I can remember, I have been passionate about embroidery, knitting and crocheting, basically working with yarn.  Then in 2011, few weeks after moving to the lovely countryside of Dorset, England I met Kathleen Paterson during a craft show and there was no turning back.  She is a very talented textile artist, running a monthly course known as “Creative Embroidery” and the first session was to knit a pillow without using a pattern.  What a life changing experience.  She forced me out of my comfort zone and gave me tools and techniques to start exploring the world of textiles in a new and exciting way which eventually lead me to sign up with the Open Collage of Art in England – finding the confidence of developing my own voice.

I have exhibited at the Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta and was chosen in 2016 to exhibit at the New Forest Art Exhibition which was a dream come true.  Having my creation on display next to more traditional art was an honour and a huge encouragement to continue to develop my art. I go my first commission in 2018, which is now on display in an international PR firm located in Reykjavik, Iceland.

I work with textured threads in all shapes and forms while exploring the theme circle of life / nature.  My colour panel reflects my Icelandic heritage and science background – weather beaten Northern Artic wilderness combined with the romantic smooth curves and colour of the rolling hills of the English countryside as well as the amazing colour panel of tropical living in the sunny state of Florida, where I am currently located.
